About The Event
Waste generation is a major issue that is becoming increasingly prominent in the environmental arena and cannot be stopped altogether, but we can always aim towards waste reduction. Of the 6000 tonnes of garbage produced in the city each day, around 100 tonnes is sanitary waste, predominantly disposable sanitary napkins.
Through the ages, menstruation has never been discussed openly. Even today, feminine hygiene is not openly discussed by all. Coupled with the social taboo is lack of awareness on sustainable menstruation which needs attention.
Sustainable period products can help in reducing the average sanitary waste a menstruator can generate in their lifetime.
The sustainable alternatives are reusable and are good for the environment as well as the menstruator.
Join us for an interactive session with well known social activist and Gynaecologist in the city Dr. Meenakshi Bharath.
Break the Myths, get your queries clarified, and know more on Sustainable menstruation and to learn how can we as volunteers help in raising awareness on the same.
