SEE THE ABILITY
See The Ability (STA) is a cause aimed to bring specially-abled people into the mainstream society and to make them feel inclusive. This cause is aimed at spending time and spreading joy to children at residential schools/homes for the Specially abled
'People with disabilities' often face many barriers that restrict them from participating in society on an equal basis. They face obstacles to move freely every day, live independently in the society, find employment, participate in sports, and many more. 'See The Ability' was conceptualized as an effort to narrow the gap between the mainstream society and specially-abled people and ensure that the specially-abled people enjoy their rights just like everyone else. Volunteers from VFC have been successful in engaging kids from different special homes across the city for over a long period now. With an intent to ensure that children are intellectually, physically and socially stimulated to improve their health and to avoid anxiety and loneliness.
Volunteers participate in 'See The Ability' twice a month.
The cause is currently active at around 20 residential homes/Special Schools across Bengaluru.
Schools/Homes for children with Intellectual Disability: Spoorthi Residential school, Sarvodaya Home, Grace Reformed trust, Paradise for the deserted, Sri Sai Vatsalya, Cottolengo, Krishna Trust, Belakku Special School, Vikas Special School. Arunachethana, Nachiketa, Navachethana, Chiranthana
